The Universe is ours for the Knowing…

…all we have to do is look up.

*the cosmic adventures of an amateur astronomer

I AM AN AMATEUR ASTRONOMER

I got into it seriously last year during quarantine. But, the interest has been there for as long as I can remember. My dad got his first telescope when he was 12 – a telescope which I now own thanks to his recent equipment upgrade. I grew up looking at the moon, the planets, and the stars. And, even though I have a wonderful career in landscape design, I am angling to volunteer at a local radio telescope. I’m obsessed! Join me as I educate myself on all things astronomical.

Standing there at night with my telescope reminds me just how big the universe is, and how all I have to do to feel connected to it is look up.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

April Ryan holds a B.S. in Marine Biology, as well as a degree in Horticulture Technology. If she had her way, she’d be a professional student. “I wish I could collect degrees in all the sciences, kinda like Pokémon”, April says. So, while she is a landscape designer by day, she is an avid amateur astronomer by night. She never stops learning.
